We supply prefilled with 10%/13% Neutral buffered formalin for your convenience, it requires a relatively short period of fixation, but can also be used for the long-term storage of tissue. So it is the standard preferred fixative throughout the world for light microscopy. Comparison with an unbuffered formalin solution, the acidity can react with haemoglobin in the tissues to produce dark brown acid formaldehyde haematin precipitates, which complicate histological interpretation.
